Sources: Luca Bombino jets in to sign for Stoke City after terms agreed
Luca Bombino is flying into England this weekend to seal a £2.9million move to Stoke City from MLS side San Diego, sources have told Football Insider.
The USA youth international has agreed a three-year contract with the Championship club, with the option to trigger a one-year extension.
Bombino has emerged as one of the standout left-backs in the MLS since joining San Diego in February 2025.
He has registered three goals and assists each in 23 appearances across all competitions for the California-based club so far this season.
Stoke have been targeting a left-back addition to bolster Mark Robins' ranks, with Bombino now set to join up with his squad in the coming days.
The Potters have started the new season in poor form, with one win and three defeats in their four matches across league and cup so far.

Bombino came through the LAFC academy and made his professional bow in 2023 for their reserve side in the third division of American soccer.
He failed to break into the LA first-team and made a loan switch to San Diego last year, which saw him register four goal contributions in 31 games during their inaugural MLS campaign.
SDFC signed him permanently in November for an initial £147,000, with add-ons potentially seeing the deal rise to around £812,000.
He has continued to shine in the MLS, and San Diego now look set to turn a huge profit as Stoke aim to complete a deal for Bombino worth just under £3m.
Robins has Eric Bocat and Aaron Cresswell as his senior options at left-back, but the latter is currently sidelined for an extended period with a knee injury.
Charlton poised to sign Nottingham Forest defender Tyler Bindon
Elsewhere in the Championship, sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Nottingham Forest defender Bindon has undergone a medical ahead of a move to Charlton.
The centre-back is due to join Nathan Jones' side on loan for the season after he impressed in a temporary stint at Sheffield United last term.
The New Zealand international is not in Oliver Glasner's plans for this campaign, but could line up against Stoke when they face the Addicks on 5 September.
