Sources: Tyler Bindon undergoing Charlton medical after Nottingham Forest accept offer

Charlton Athletic have agreed to sign Nottingham Forest centre-back Tyler Bindon, sources have told Football Insider.

The New Zealand international is in line for a medical at The Valley on Friday after the two clubs agreed a season-long loan deal.

The Addicks have been working to strengthen their backline in recent weeks, and had identified the 21-year-old as one of their strongest options.

Bindon has been available for loan in recent months, and it is Charlton who have now won the race to sign him.

Nathan Jones and Co. will hope to have the deal wrapped up and finalised in time for their new man to feature in Saturday's clash with Preston.

Bindon spent last season on loan at Sheffield United, where he notched one goal from 25 Championship appearances.

Bindon is extremely highly-regarded at Forest, and is seen as a player who has a genuine chance of forging a career in the Premier League.

He made significant progress during his loan stint at Bramall Lane last term, which saw him taste Championship football for the first time.

The former Reading academy graduate is tipped to have a big future ahead of him, and Forest are now trusting Charlton with the next stage of his development.

Bindon is also already a key figure for his national team, and made three appearances for New Zealand at this summer's World Cup.

Charlton have worked hard to fend off other clubs to secure the defender's signature, and are now on the verge of sealing his signing.

Nottingham Forest 'doing everything' to block Neco Williams exit

Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on Thursday that Forest are determined to prevent defender Neco Williams from joining Spurs in the final stages of the window.

The Wales international is very highly thought of in North London, and is one of the Lilywhites' long-term targets.

However, Forest have no intention of letting Williams leave the City Ground right now, and are "doing everything they can" to keep hold of all of their best players.

The Reds have fought off sustained interest from Spurs in Morgan Gibbs-White in the last 12 months, and they are now trying to do the same with Williams.
