Wrexham centre-back Dan Scarr is wanted by multiple Championship clubs this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 31-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract in North Wales, and a whole host of EFL clubs are chasing a move for him as a result.

Scarr is attracting interest from second-tier clubs, as well as a whole host of top-end League One sides.

A race looks set to develop for his signature in the coming weeks, with Wrexham running out of time to address his contract situation.

The former Birmingham City man started 15 games for Phil Parkinson's men last season, as they narrowly missed out on a place in the play-offs.

Wrexham are hoping to go one better in 2026-27, but could be forced to live without Scarr.

Dan Scarr could be set for Championship stay

Scarr was part of the Wrexham team that secured an unprecedented three successive promotions back in 2024-25, and was a valuable option for them last term.

He has ample experience of Championship football, and that proved valuable for Parkinson and his men as they got their first taste of the division for 42 years.

However, with his contract now heading into its final stages, other clubs are ready to pounce and prise him away from the Racecourse Ground.

Scarr also has a promotion to the Championship on his CV from his time with Plymouth Argyle, and looks set to have the chance to stay in the second tier next term.

Several clubs are prepared to offer him the chance to move elsewhere in the Championship, with his future at Wrexham not yet secure long-term.

Birmingham and Wrexham in transfer battle to sign Romeo Amane

Wrexham battling Birmingham for Romeo Amane

Football Insider revealed at the start of June that Wrexham are battling Birmingham and Sheffield United for Rapid Vienna midfielder Romeo Amane this summer.

The trio have all been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old in recent months, and view him as a player who would be capable of helping them push for the Premier League next term.

Amane notched one goal and four assists in all competitions last term, and has played in the UEFA Conference League in multiple campaigns.

Primarily a holding or box-to-box midfielder, the Ivorian could be about to move to the Championship for next season.
