Arsenal talisman Alexis Sanchez has held discussions with French giants Paris Saint-Germain over a potential summer move, according to a report.
The Sun reports that the 28-year-old held talks with PSG sporting director Antero Henrique at the Royal Monceau Raffles hotel in the French capital on Friday afternoon.
The newspaper claims that the Arsenal forward is currently on holiday in France as he continues to contemplate his future with the Premier League side this summer.
The report claims that the Ligue 1 outfit are close to offering £45million for the Chilean as they look to improve on their squad and mount a serious challenge for the Champions League next season.
It is said that Sanchez is keen to been involved in the Champions League but a deal that would see him leave the Emirates Stadium this summer is reportedly far from being finalised.
PSG are fully aware of what the forward can produce on the pitch as Sanchez scored against them in the 1-1 Champions League draw in France last season.
Fellow Premier League side Manchester City are also reportedly interested in landing the Chilean and it is said that they could match any offer from the French side this summer.
Sanchez was inspirational for the North London club last season, notching up a total of 30 goals and 19 assists in all competitions last season.
The Chilean’s current contract at the Emirates Stadium runs out next summer.
Football Insider verdict
Although Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has remained adamant that the Chilean will not be allowed to leave the club this summer, it appears more likely Sanchez is angling for a move away. If PSG were to present the Gunners with an offer in excess of £50million, Arsenal should seriously consider this as they could easily lose Sanchez on a free transfer at the end of next season. The Chilean has demonstrated his quality during his three-year spell in England but even with his presence, Arsenal have still not posed a serious threat on the Premier League title. Sanchez can be replaced in the long-term but the Gunners must bring a top player into the club before allowing the fantastic forward to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.
In other Arsenal news, the Gunners are in a race with Tottenham to land this attacker from one of their title rivals.
