Euro giants to bid £12m for Tottenham attacker amid contract stalemate - report

By London correspondent Tony Hughes

Borussia Dortmund are preparing a £12million bid for Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli, according to a report.

The Sun claim the Bundesliga giants are keen to take advantage of the Belgium international’s diminished status at White Hart Lane.

It is said Chadli could leave the north Londoners this summer along with the likes of Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb as Mauricio Pochettino overhauls the squad ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League.

Tottenham have already signed midfield enforcer Victor Wanyama and are closing in on the signing of AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen.

Spurs boss Pochettino might sanction the sale of Chadli after he slipped down the pecking order in the 2015-16 season.

The left-winger made 40 appearances, scoring seven goals and supplying five assists, but he was on the fringes of the team for much of the campaign, including in the crucial title run-in.

The 26-year-old missed out on selection for Euro 2016 and may push for a transfer after failing to agree a new contract. His current deal expires in two years.

Dortmund are in the market for new attacking talent after agreeing to sell playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Manchester United for a fee of around £26million.

In other Tottenham transfer news, the club are hopeful of finalising a landmark deal within the next 48 hours.
