Everton and Arsenal send scouts to watch League One wonderkid - report
By Will Butcher
Everton and Arsenal’s talent spotters have travelled to South Korea to watch Charlton youngster Ezri Konsa at the Under-20 World Cup, according to a report.
The News Shopper claim the 19-year-old centre-back is being watched by the Premier league duo after breaking into the Addicks’ first team at the back during 2016-17.
However, both sides will have been disappointed so far, as Konsa is yet to feature for the young Lions with manager Paul Simpson staying with the same players so far.
The former Man City ace has chosen Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori and Middlesbrough starlet Dael Fry for all of England’s three fixtures.
Now in the quarter-finals of the competition, Konsa has had to watch from the bench after being a late call-up to the squad just two weeks ago.

Now, both Toffees and Gunners spies will be hoping Simpson gives them a glimpse at what Konsa can do against Mexico on Monday in the last eight of the competition.
Making his debut in August 2016, Konsa went on to play 39 matches for his boyhood club, helping his side keep eight clean sheets from centre-back, right-back and midfield.
It remains to be seen how much either top-flight sides would have to pay for Konsa, with three years still set to run on his current deal.
Football Insider verdict:
The Toffees have been reportedly interested in a number of young stars from the Football League and around Europe, with Goodison Park becoming a hotbed for young talent. The likes of Mason Holgate, Tom Davies and Dom Calvert-Lewin have been blooded in the first team under manager Ronald Koeman this season, with the Dutch boss willing to place his faith in young talent. It has also seen the Merseyside club move for Ademola Lookman in January from Konsa’s current side. A move could see the two youngsters reunite, with the duo currently sharing a room in Korea, all pointing to what must be a move that Konsa cannot ignore. However, Everton must move quickly, in order to win the race ahead of Arsenal.
In other Everton transfer news, this striker has agreed a deal with the Goodison park outfit.
