Seamus Coleman was taken off on a stretcher during the Republic of Ireland’s 0-0 draw with Wales on Friday evening – and Everton fans on Twitter have wished their player a speedy recovery.
The 28-year-old was on the wrong end of a horror tackle from Aston Villa left-back Neil Taylor midway through the second-half during the World Cup qualifier at the Aviva Stadium.
Coleman appeared to suffer a serious leg injury with TV producers opting not to show replays which perhaps indicates the seriousness of his injury.
This news will be a body blow to Toffees manager Ronald Koeman who could potentially lose one of his key players for a long period of time.
As it was expected, Everton fans on social media wished their player a speedy recovery and slammed Taylor for his horrific tackle.
The Wales full-back was shown a straight red for his challenge which could potentially cause serious damage to a players career.
Nonetheless, fans urged Coleman to stay strong and stated that he will be a big miss to the Merseyside club.
One fan pointed out that Wales captain Ashley Williams looked devastated at his club teammate suffering such a serious injury.
The severity of Coleman’s injury could be revealed within the next few days with the Irishman needing scans and tests to determine how badly he has injured his leg.

Thing is, O'Neil and Keane might still play Coleman against Iceland on Tuesday.
