'A message to Spurs' - Everton fans fume as Toffees ace sends social media message

Ross Barkley posted a picture on his Instagram story of the scar left from his recent hamstring surgery, but Everton fans were not in the mood to dish out any symapthy.

The picture can be seen below courtesy of TheToffeesBlues on Twitter, and even though it’s pretty graphic, Everton fans were unmoved, with one saying he was just sending “a message to Spurs”.

Barkley hasn’t kicked a football since May and has missed 25 games for the Toffees due to his hamstring injury.

The midfielder almost left the club in the summer when Everton agreed a fee with Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

However, Barkley opted to reject a medical with the Blues and stay with the Toffees, revealing that he would decide his future in January.

Barkley’s previous manager Ronald Koeman stated in July that the midfielder wanted to leave the club for a new challenge after rejecting a new contract.

Although Sam Allardyce has revealed that he would love to keep Barkley at the club, he fears a deal for him to leave might already been agreed.

With the midfielder’s future unknown, but seemingly lying outside of Goodison, Everton fans haven’t got time for their star player, or his big scar.

One fan said the scar shouldn’t stop him signing a new contract for Everton.
