Kenny: Everton fans will be crushed by 'really strange' Davies transfer reveal
Everton fans would be crushed if Tom Davies decides to quit for Crystal Palace.
So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the future of the Toffees academy graduate.
This site revealed on 27 September that Palace are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old amid uncertainty over his future.
The midfielder’s current deal expires in 2023 and talks over an extension have stalled.
Palace will be in the market for a new midfielder next summer after the impressive Connor Gallagher returns to parent club Chelsea.
Davies has managed just 17 minutes of Premier League action across two substitute appearances this season.

But Kenny insists that Selhurst Park would be a step down from Goodison and that Davies should stay and fight for his Everton career.
“I don’t think the fans would be happy,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“It’s important to keep that link and to keep homegrown players on the books. They’d be really disappointed if he went to Crystal Palace.
“For me, that’s a big drop down anyway. No disrespect to Palace, but Everton are a bigger club. So it’s a really strange one, this.
“Surely he’d want to do his utmost best to try and stay at Everton and get himself into that first-team.
“He’s got the backing of the crowd and the support of all the staff there as well. That means a lot.“
Davies made his Everton debut in 2016.
He has gone on to appear 156 times in total for the club, scoring six goals and laying on eight assists.
