Everton launch ‘approach’ for Dario Osorio, stats prove why £17.4m deal is a no-brainer
Everton are pushing to secure the signing of winger Dario Osorio from Midtjylland ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Toffees are being linked with a move for the 22-year-old alongside the duo of Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, with a Premier League switch looking increasingly likely in the coming months.
The Chilean starlet has notched six goals and six assists from the right flank in the Danish Superligaen this season, and he has achieved those numbers from just 25 starts.
Everton and their competitors have “all made approaches” to Midtjylland over their star, according to GiveMeSport, as a transfer battle looks set to develop in the coming weeks.
David Moyes wants to add quality to his group again ahead of next season, and the stats show that Osorio could be a hugely exciting addition at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton have been productive in the wide areas this season, as Iliman Ndiaye has shone for them once again, while Jack Grealish was also a revelation before he had his campaign ended by injury.
A move to keep hold of the Manchester City loanee is a top priority for the Merseysiders this summer, but that hasn’t stopped them from setting their sights firmly on Osorio.
| Stats | Osorio | Ndiaye | Grealish |
| Apps (Starts) | 27 (25) | 30 (30) | 20 (18) |
| G/A | 12 | 9 | 8 |
| Chances Created per 90 | 1.56 | 1 | 2.10 |
| Successful Dribbles per 90 | 2.89 | 2.38 | 1.27 |
| Shots on Target per 90 | 1.28 | 0.76 | 0.44 |
| Duels Won per 90 | 7.97 | 6.29 | 5.85 |
The youngster has dazzled for Midtjylland this season, and looks set to get a step up to the Premier League, and Everton must ensure it is they who give him that opportunity.
GiveMeSport have reported that it will take offers in excess of the £17.4million mark to secure his services this summer, but stats show that he could be a no-brainer for the Toffees at that price.
Osorio has created more chances in the league than Ndiaye, and from three fewer appearances, while he has completed more successful dribbles per 90 minutes than both the Senegalese star and Grealish.
It is clear that he is a hugely exciting young talent, and if Moyes could add him and secure Grealish for another year, it would give him some truly frightening options on the flanks.
Osorio swoop to finish Dwight McNeil at Everton
Everton’s pursuit of Osorio could ultimately provide the final nail in the coffin in terms of Dwight McNeil’s time at the club ahead of next season.
The left-sided star has fallen down the pecking order on Merseyside and has made just 14 Premier League starts so far this term, a total which would likely have been even lower had Charly Alcaraz’s season not been heavily disrupted by injury.
It is clear that the likes of Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will not be going anywhere, and if both Grealish and Osorio join permanently, then Moyes will surely have to send an attacker out the door.
McNeil is a prime candidate for that, given that he has played such a bit-part role in 2025-26 and is also heading into the final year of his contract.
There would be little need for Moyes to keep him around if another winger came through the door, and as a result, a move for Osorio would surely leave Everton looking to cash in.
