Everton midfielder Beni Baningime is in talks to join Danish side Brondby, Football Insider understands.

The Merseysiders' manager Marco Silva has given the green light for Baningime, 20, to leave Goodison Park before the window shuts this month.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that Brondby have leapfrogged a number of rival clubs to climb into pole position to secure the rising star's signature in what is expected to be a loan deal.

Silva is happy to loan out the defensive midfielder in order for him to get regular senior game time and develop his game.

Baningime had a spell out on loan at Championship outfit Wigan Athletic during the second half of last season, but he made only one appearance during his time there.

The DR Congo-born player has made 12 first-team appearances for the Toffees having progressed through the academy ranks of the club.

Everton signed three senior central midfielders this summer for major fees, including Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Fabian Delph.

The arrivals of the big-name trio have pushed Baningime further down the pecking order at Goodison.
