Everton news: Robinson fumes over latest Dele Alli development - 'there's no need'
Paul Robinson has slammed Besiktas manager Senol Gunes for his comments about Everton loanee Dele Alli.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the temporary spell in Turkey is “clearly not working” for the 26-year-old right now.
As quoted by talkSPORT (2 November), Senol Gunes suggested Alli could be doing a lot better when quizzed about the midfielder’s loan move.
Gunes said the ex-Spurs star is falling “below expectations.”
Alli was dropped from the starting XI for Besiktas’ subsequent game against Galatasaray on 5 November.
He returned to the team for Wednesday’s Turkish Cup victory over Serik Belediyespor.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said: “This is an opportunity for Dele that has to work.
“It clearly is not right now.
“The manager has not helped the situation by saying what he’s said.
“If you are having a tough time the last thing you need is your manager coming out and saying it in public. There was no need for that. Dele needs help and support from his manager.
“Dele has a lot to prove. There is a lot of work ahead of him if he is going to get back to his best.”
Alli joined Besiktas from Everton on a season-long loan deal in August.
His contract at Goodison Park runs until the end of June 2024.
