Everton could accept an offer for star midfielder Amadou Onana before 30th June, sources have told Football Insider

The Toffees see the Belgian international as a sellable asset and a deal could go a long way towards easing their concerns over any further profit and sustainability (PSR) breaches.

Onana wasn’t a guaranteed starter in Sean Dyche’s side towards the back end of the season and the club feel he could be the right player to sacrifice to ensure other key figures remain at Goodison Park this summer.

Sources say at least five elite European sides are interested in the 22-year-old, including PSG and Bayern Munich.

Football Insider revealed on 17 May the Blues are likely to accept bids of up to £50million for Onana, whose contract is set to run until 2027.

Amadou Onana could leave Everton in next few weeks

Onana enjoyed a strong first season at Everton after joining the club in a £33million deal from French side Lille in 2022.

But he hasn’t really kicked on this year after being dropped from the starting lineup in four of the Toffees’ final six games of the campaign.

The midfielder started in 30 out of his 37 appearances throughout the season as Dyche steered the club to safety once again despite being docked eight points for two separate financial breaches.

Goodison chiefs are aware they must sell one of Onana, Jarrad Branthwaite, Jordan Pickford, Dwight McNeil or James Garner once the transfer window reopens.

There is a growing feeling they are now ready to sanction a move for the Belgian as there is expected to be plenty of interest in him over the coming weeks.
