Everton caretaker manager David Unsworth banished Morgan Schneiderlin and Kevin Mirallas from training on Saturday, according to a report.
Sky Sports claims that the senior duo were sent away from training with the rest of the squad due to a “lack of effort” and as a result were not in the side that beat Watford on Sunday.
Everton have been in somewhat of a state of disarray this season after an appalling start to the campaign that saw Ronald Koeman sacked by the board two weeks ago.
Since Unsworth was handed the reigns he has struggled for results, but got his first win in four on Sunday by guiding his side to a 3-2 victory over Watford at Goodison Park.
They did so without Schneiderlin or Mirallas though, who were both nowhere to be seen when the teamsheet was made public an hour before kick-off.
Now it seems that Unsworth is at odds with the two players, both of whom were understood to be linked with moves away from Everton in the summer transfer window.
Schneiderlin, 27, has been one of the biggest underperformers in the Toffees side this season, having little impact in the games he has played in his 15 appearances across all competitions.
Mirallas, 30, has been a key part of the Everton senior side for the past five years but has struggled for form this term due to Koeman’s reluctance to play wingers.
In other Everton news, fans destroyed this senior player for his performance against Watford.
