Everton set sights on Conor Gallagher, loan-to-buy deal on the cards
Everton are keeping close tabs on Tottenham Hotspur star Conor Gallagher ahead of the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Toffees are interested in pursuing a loan deal, most likely with with an obligation to buy in 2027, for the central midfielder, 26, rather than a permanent deal.
Everton are prioritising the capture of a proven central midfielder and it is believed that David Moyes is a “big admirer” of the England international as the club prepare to assemble a shortlist of targets.
It is believed that Gallagher could now leave Tottenham Hotspur just months after joining in the winter window.
At Spurs, Gallagher has made 12 appearances in all competitions to date during a calamitous period for the club and that has opened the door for Everton’s summer swoop.

Since signing for Tottenham in the winter window, there is no doubt that Gallagher has been a disappointment.
There was hope that the England international’s quality and experience could help lead Spurs up the table. However, so far, the opposition has happened.
| Conor Gallagher’s Premier League stats this season | Per 90 minutes |
| Chances created | 1.07 |
| Shots | 0.67 |
| Duels won | 44.9% |
| Tackles | 1.34 |
| Passing accuracy | 81.4% |
According to Fotmob on 18 April, Gallagher has been far from impressive, averaging 1.07 chances created, 0.67 shots, 44.9 per cent duels won, 1.34 tackles and an 81.4 per cent passing accuracy per 90 minutes.
For a central midfielder, this is highly disappointing, with the 26-year-old clearly not being effective either defensively or offensively.
However, at Tottenham, given their current circumstances, it is likely difficult for any player to come in and thrive.
Therefore, there is a chance that he would be able to turn his form around at Everton.
How much do Everton have to spend in the summer transfer window?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Everton will have a limited budget in the summer transfer window.
As a result, loan-to-buy deals are more likely than big-money captures as they aim to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
Alongside a new central midfielder, the Toffees are also on the hunt for a centre-forward as they aim to finally end their woes up top.
Recently, England international Ivan Toney has been linked to Everton as they look to prepare for the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, with David Moyes’ side still in the mix for European qualification, it remains to be seen how this could affect their transfer plans, with the club still having an outside shot of playing Champions League football next season.
