Everton star named one of the most talented prospects in Europe - report
Everton’s Tom Davies is officially the most promising English teenager in Europe after coming seventh in a report by the CIES Football Observatory on players under the age of 20.
The Toffees midfielder is amongst fine company with some impressive youngsters ahead of him.
AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was given the top rank and therefore the most promising footballer, followed by Alban Lafont at Toulouse, PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, and Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic in fourth.
Davies is the highest ranked English player in the report with Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon behind in tenth.
The 19-year-old has made 33 appearances for the Blues and got his first goal of the season in Everton’s 3-1 defeat of Crystal Palace in the Premier League last time out.
Already an England U21 international, there are high hopes of the Liverpudlian born midfielder who was the subject of a switch to West Ham United during the January transfer window despite being under contract at Goodison Park until 2022.
Against Liverpool earlier in the season, Toffees supporters slated the display of their youngster who now looks to have regained his form in light of the CIES report.
Everton return to the Premier League this weekend to face Watford and another opportunity for Davies to prove that he is the best English player under 20 in all of Europe.
