Everton told to accept Alex Iwobi offer after source's talks update - Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Everton should look to cash in on Alex Iwobi in the summer transfer window.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested bringing in a healthy fee for the 27-year-old would allow Sean Dyche’s side to secure an upgrade in his position.
Sources told this site last week (31 May) that Iwobi is set to decide his Everton future imminently after he was offered a long-term new contract at the club – amid interest from Premier League and European clubs.
The Nigeria international has just 12 months remaining on his current Goodison Park contract.
He started all 38 of the Toffees’ Premier League games in the 2022-23 campaign – notching two goals and nine assists as the Merseysiders secured top-flight survival.
Football Insider revealed last month (22 May) that Everton will have no money to play with in this summer’s transfer market and will have to operate a sell-to-buy policy.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I think they should be open to selling Iwobi.
“He’s done ok. He’s been there when Everton needed someone.
“He’s stood up and shown he can be a decent player.
“But if it gives them money to get a replacement, I’d sell him on.
“It would boost that transfer budget even more and allow them to move on to better targets and get clear of that relegation zone next season.”
Everton paid a reported £35million to sign Iwobi from Arsenal in 2019.
The midfielder, who has played in several roles at Goodison Park since his arrival, has notched nine goals and 16 assists in 138 Toffees games.
