Everton turn attention to Ivan Toney deal, he’s ‘very much open’ to transfer

Everton still retain a strong interest in Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney ahead of the upcoming transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The Toffees are keen to try and land the 30-year-old due to his status as a proven Premier League goalscorer, but they are aware that a move for him will not come cheaply ahead of next season.

Al-Ahli have no desire to lose their league’s leading goalscorer, but sources have indicated that Toney is still “very much open” to the idea of a return to the Premier League at this stage of his career.

His age is understood to have closed the door on a move to one of English football’s elite clubs, while he is still under contract in Saudi Arabia until the summer of 2028.

David Moyes is keen to strengthen Everton’s attacking options again this summer, and he may even be able to offer European football to try and tempt some of their biggest targets.

Everton outline Ivan Toney for ambitious striker deal

Everton have big ambitions as a club, and they are keen to continue to try and attract big names in the coming years in order to help them achieve their goals on the pitch.

The loan deal to sign Jack Grealish was seen as a huge coup last summer, and they have already decided that they want to add to their striker options with another high-quality option.

Toney’s 2025-26 stats compared to his last Premier League season, as per Fotmob.

Toney has plundered over 30 goals in each of his two seasons in the Middle East so far, while he has managed 46 goal involvements from just 41 games in all competitions this term.

Everton have lacked firepower at the top of the pitch at times, due to the ongoing struggles of Beto and Thierno Barry, and rectifying that is seen as a priority for them this summer.

Toney’s wages are set to present an obstacle for any hope of a deal, but that is unlikely to prevent the Merseysiders from trying.

They view a top-class striker as the next step to help make them regular European contenders, and that has seen them fix their eyes on Toney once again.

Toffees well-placed to sign star Championship winger

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday that Abdul Fatawu will jump at a Premier League move this summer, with Everton and Sunderland both still interested in signing the Leicester man.

The winger has starred for the Foxes despite their troubled campaign, and he already has 16 goal contributions to his name in the Championship this season.

The Premier League duo are lurking as the East Midlands outfit face the prospect of relegation into League One, and sources have revealed that Fatawu is set to be one of their first summer sales if they succumb to the drop.

Leicester are willing to accept offers at the £20million mark for the Ghana international, who is adamant that he cannot drop as low as the third tier.

That is set to play perfectly into the hands of Everton, with both them and Sunderland seemingly well-placed to be able to strike a deal.
