Everton have found the ideal Iliman Ndiaye replacement, it's not Jack Grealish

Iliman Ndiaye's move to Manchester City has left Everton with a gaping hole in their attack for the 2026-27 campaign.

David Moyes was able to add Jack Grealish to the squad before the transfer window slammed shut, but there is no doubt that the team lacks depth.

Despite losing such a key figure on a £65million deal, the Toffees are yet to lose across all competitions, and are sitting ninth in the Premier League table.

Not only did Moyes lose an important winger. The striker spot is one of concern, with Thierno Barry the only option through the middle this term.

All signs point towards further investment in the January transfer window, but the Friedkin Group cannot be trusted to follow through on that.

The owners might be even more unlikely to flood more funds into the club after Everton's 1-0 win over Wolves in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, 16 September.

Fans will be desperate for the 23-year-old to show something more this season, but it wasn't just the Argentinian who stole the show.

Tyler Dibling has rarely been able to show his best side since moving to Merseyside on a £42m deal from Southampton in the summer of 2025.

But against Wolves, he inspired the Toffees to victory, and it might just have been his best performance under Moyes so far.

The 20-year-old grabbed the assist for the game's only goal, creating two big chances, completed 75 per cent of his dribbles - the most of anyone - and entered into 15 duels [FotMob].

Dibling even made five recoveries and three tackles, one of which occurred in 64th minute, racing back to break up a Wolves counter-attack.

Have Everton made a mistake with Dibling?

Dibling's situation at the Hill Dickinson Stadium is certainly a concerning one, having yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this term.

His only minutes have come in the Carabao Cup, but the signs from each of those games have been positive for the explosive winger.

Mick Brown has told Football Insider that Everton are willing to accept loan offers for Dibling in the January window, but that is six months too late.

Many fans will feel that the 20-year-old should have been shipped out during the summer, and Moyes has questions to answer about the player's future.
