Everton's search for a right-back goes on, and supporters are understandably frustrated by the lack of business being done.

David Moyes has only added Hayden Hackney, Christian Norgaard and Brennan Johnson to his squad, despite ambitions of European football.

The right-back position has been an issue on Merseyside for several windows now, and even more so after Seamus Coleman's departure.

Nathan Patterson simply cannot be relied upon, while Jake O'Brien playing out of position should not be viewed as a permanent solution.

Several links have emerged at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, including Crystal Palace's Daniel Munoz, but a deal for the Colombian international looks hard to do.

More recently, Barcelona's Hector Fort and Aston Villa's Matty Cash have been named as options, and supporters are split on who to prioritise.

Everton must get deal done for Hector Fort

While Fort is just 20 years of age, compared to Villa's 29-year-old defender, and had far fewer minutes in 2025-26, the stats don't lie.

In La Liga, in just 482 minutes, the youngster scored twice and assisted twice, creating one chance every 120 minutes [FotMob].

To put that into perspective, Cash played 3020 Premier League minutes, only notching two more goal contributions, while creating a chance every 100 minutes.

Fort is far more clinical in front of goal, recording a 71 per cent shot accuracy compared to Cash's 45 per cent, as well as completing 1.49 successful dribbles per 90.

The Poland international could only manage 0.33 dribbles per 90, while also being outshone in blocks per 90, 0.93 to 0.24, and possession won in the final third per 90, 0.75 to 0.09.

The Barcelona youngster is clearly a fiend on the right flank, and has the capacity to prove himself in the Premier League, if given the chance.

Which other positions must David Moyes improve?

With just three deals done so far, the Friedkin Group are being pressured into getting transfers across the line before the window slams shut.

Of course, the right-back position must be a priority, but the striker position is also extremely important, with Thierno Barry and Beto not an ideal striker duo.

While Barry has shown signs of improving during pre-season, the same cannot be said for his teammate. In turn, Richarlison is being tipped for a return.

However, Keith Wyness has told Football Insider that a deal for Tottenham Hotspur's striker will only be possible in the latter stages of the window.
