Sources: Everton given green light for Hector Fort deal
Barcelona are ready to let right-back Hector Fort leave the club this summer amid interest from Everton, sources have told Football Insider.
The 20-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Camp Nou and has been deemed surplus to requirements for the La Liga giants ahead of the new campaign.
Barcelona are ready to sell their academy graduate for as little as £15million, and it is understood that he is a player who "ticks a lot of boxes" for Everton.
Sources have indicated that Fort's age and potential to improve have made him very appealing for the Toffees, but they are also battling the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Fulham for a deal.
The starlet is currently very high on the Merseysiders' list of targets in the closing stages of the window.
They have already been priced out of several options to fill their new right-back slot, and a new acquisition in that area remains a huge priority.
Hector Fort's days at Barcelona are numbered
Fort has been part of the latest crop of La Masia talents to burst into the first team at Barcelona in recent years, but he has failed to truly establish himself.
He was shipped out on loan to Elche last season, where he impressed with two goals and two assists from full-back in just 14 games.
However, his form for his loan club has not been enough to thrust him back into the fold with his parent club, who are ready to cash in on him this summer.
Fort already has over 30 La Liga appearances to his name, and has also turned out in the Champions League on three occasions.
David Moyes and Co. are still working hard to find the perfect fit for their new right-back, but Fort is understood to be firmly within their desired price range for a deal.
Barcelona have already made their stance clear regarding the youngster's future, but it will depend on whether Everton can tempt the player ahead of Dortmund and Fulham.
Everton 'plan' for Iliman Ndiaye to join Premier League club
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown recently told Football Insider that Everton are putting "plans" in place for Iliman Ndiaye's exit, despite his move to Saudi Arabia collapsing.
The winger turned down the chance of a move to the Middle East, but Brown believes that his desire to continue playing in the Premier League will only boost interest from elsewhere.
While Brown noted that the collapsed Saudi move was a positive outcome for Everton, he believes that a domestic exit cannot be ruled out before the deadline.
