David Moyes has to drop Brennan Johnson to the bench as Everton take on Hull City this weekend.

The Toffees return to action after an extended international break with a trip to East Yorkshire on Sunday.

They are yet to lose a competitive game so far in this campaign, having beaten Wolves and Ipswich Town 1-0 in their last two outings.

Moyes will have been casting a keen eye over his players' exploits on international duty ahead of a key team selection this weekend.

Johnson was not at the races as Wales struggled in their Nations League fixtures, and is yet to truly impress since joining Everton in the summer.

His latest transfer value update proves that Moyes must give another player a chance to make the right wing spot their own against Hull.

Brennan Johnson deserves Everton axe vs Hull City

Johnson was pulled out of a nightmare spell at Crystal Palace as Everton swapped him for Dwight McNeil in August.

The 25-year-old has made seven appearances for the Toffees so far this term, scoring and assisting once each.

He is yet to record a goal involvement in five appearances and three starts in the Premier League, with just 1.49 chances created per 90 minutes, which lands him in the 46th percentile for top-flight wingers so far.

Johnson has also recorded just 0.37 successful dribbles (16th percentile), 3.73 duels won (24th percentile) and 0.37 fouls won (17th percentile) per 90 up to now.

Transfermarkt have highlighted his lack of form by dropping his market value by 16.7 per cent from £25.4million to £21.1m in their latest quarterly update.

Moyes has Tyrique George and Tyler Dibling waiting to be given more chances in the starting eleven on the right flank, with both surely better options than Johnson to start against Hull.

George is outperforming Johnson this season

England under-21 forward George has created more chances (2.02), garnered more xG on target (0.15) and completed more successful dribbles (2.6) per 90 than Johnson in the PL this season.

He has also won more ground duels (4.9), taken more touches in the opposition box (5.19) and won more fouls (1.44) per 90.

Johnson boasts better defensive stats, but Moyes should be focusing on taking the game to Hull, who are winless in four games and contending with fresh injury issues at the back.
