Everton starlet 'knocking on David Moyes' door' after 'leaked stories'
Harvey Foster will likely be lined up for a loan move amid his string of highly impressive performances for Everton's Under-21s.
That is according to former senior Everton scout, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
The 19-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract with the Toffees and will hope to play first team football this season, whether that is at Hill Dickinson Stadium or elsewhere.
Foster is seen among the most exciting young talents in the Everton academy, but plays in a position with congestion in the first team.
Harrison Armstrong made the step to the first team this season and has become a key player for David Moyes, usually appearing alongside James Garner.
Summer arrivals Hayden Hackney and Christian Norgaard also hope to feature at the base of the midfield, while several others can also fill in.
Harvey Foster's 'agents' behind exit rumours
Everton assessed loan options for Foster in the summer but ultimately failed to agree a move.
At the age of 19, the midfielder will have hoped to have already made his debut in senior football but he may now be forced to wait until January.
"The things that bring these stories out are usually the agents leaking," King told Football Insider, when asked about the possibility of Foster leaving.
"Either trying to pressurise the club to play the boy, or trying to let the club know that there's more interest than there probably is, if you know what I mean.
"So, for me, he's at an age now where he should be certainly pushing for a first-team place. I'd start saying if he's fit, 'why aren't you pushing for a first-team place?'
"Does it mean that there's a loan period coming on? They certainly won't sell him. If they're going to sell him, it'll be next season, it won't be this one.
"So again, it's a question of seeing how he's going to progress now. He's 19, he's got to be knocking on the door."
What has Foster said?
Foster was a regular off the bench in pre-season, and even showed his readiness by scoring against Dundee FC in July.
"It was a stadium full of fans and with the first team - it is the stuff of dreams. And then to score is just an add-on," he said after the game.
"I wasn’t sure if I was going to be with them at the start of the week, I’m very grateful.”
"That is definitely the hope," Foster added when asked about his chances of making more appearances. "Obviously it is down to the manager, I will just keep working hard, doing my best and then seeing what comes of it.”
