Stefan Borson shares verdict on Amanda Staveley-led Everton takeover

Amanda Staveley could potentially turn her attention towards a deal to invest in Everton in the coming months.

That is according to former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes that the former Newcastle director will be looking for another club to take over.

This comes after West Ham investor Daniel Kretinsky struck a deal to take majority control of the club, leaving Staveley out in the cold in terms of the battle to own the club.

However, Borson believes that the 53-year-old will be determined to take on another club as quickly as possible, and feels that Everton could be the perfect candidate.

There is plenty of discontent at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after a disastrous end to the transfer window, with many fans questioning whether the club needs new ownership.

The Friedkin Group currently own both the Toffees and Italian club Roma, but their position on Merseyside is far from stable at the moment.

Everton deal 'far more expensive' for Amanda Staveley

Staveley attempted to strike a deal worth around £600million to buy West Ham in full, but Borson is adamant that her pursuit of the East London club is now effectively dead in the water.

However, he made it clear that if she were to turn her attention towards a deal to invest in Everton, it would need a far greater financial commitment.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson explained how the Toffees are likely to be of interest to her.

"It's hard to see from that what the angle is for Staveley from there," he said.

"Look, you would think that Everton immediately are going to be of interest to Staveley and whoever her backers are. Maybe there's the London aspect that's particularly attractive to them with West Ham?

"Maybe it's the property angle of sorting out the Olympic Stadium, but, you know, there's a huge advantage in having the stadium already developed and built.

"The cost of fixing or doing something radical with the Olympic Stadium, I think, is enormous, given its scale and given the difficulties with the running track and its ownership. So there's a lot to be said for switching attention, albeit a more expensive deal, to the Everton situation."

David Moyes could sensationally quit as Everton manager

David Moyes could resign as Everton boss imminently

Football Insider revealed on Saturday that Everton boss David Moyes could potentially resign from his position, amid a deteriorating relationship with the club's hierarchy.

The Scot recently went public with his lack of contact with The Friedkin Group, which has raised concern across the board at the club.

Sources say that the 63-year-old is still yet to receive the offer of a new contract from the club, leaving his long-term future uncertain at the moment.

However, a lack of support in the transfer market has also raised concerns surrounding his immediate future, with the boss contemplating the possibility of walking away.
