'I know David Moyes well and this is how he will react to Everton's calamitous transfer window'

David Moyes has been left frustrated at Everton after their failure to adequately back him during the summer transfer window.

The Toffees landed seven incoming deals this summer, two of which were loans made permanent, while Jack Grealish returned for another season on loan.

However, the lack of reinforcements up front have left Thierno Barry as the only out-and-out striker on the books, with a clear lack of quality depth in their squad.

Former West Ham scout Mick Brown, who worked closely alongside Moyes in East London, told Football Insider that the boss will roll with the punches and won't kick up a fuss.

However, with a lack of support from the board, and growing frustrations amongst the supporters, Everton seem to be falling into the same trap as West Ham did previously.

While Moyes is not expected to make any dramatic decisions in the near future, the current situation at the Hill Dickinson Stadium could lead to his eventual departure.

Could David Moyes walk away from Everton?

Football Insider revealed on 5 September that Moyes could leave his role at Everton amid a deteriorating relationship with the club's hierarchy over the last few months.

The 63-year-old has gone public with his lack of contact with The Friedkin Group, who had criticised him for not qualifying for European football last season.

Following a frustrating transfer window as well, there are clear grievances behind the scenes, and while Moyes will not kick up a fuss, further issues are expected to crop up.

"I know Moyesy well, and I wouldn't expect him to throw his toys out of the pram," Brown told Football Insider.

"He didn't even do that at West Ham, and we all know how badly things went there in the end. To be honest, this Everton situation reminds me a lot of what happened there.

"I think Moyes offers you that stability and platform, so owners can sort of fall into that trap of thinking they don't have to do too much.

"Now he's been left without a backup striker and without a lot of depth in his squad at all which is only going to cause more issues down the line when you look at it.

"It's the same mistake West Ham made, you don't back the manager, results stay good but the fans aren't happy, questions start to be asked, and eventually it comes to a head.

"Like I say, I wouldn't expected Moyesy to kick up a fuss or make any issues, he'll play the hand he's been dealt, but it will only lead to more problems in the future."

Why has Moyes been left frustrated at Everton?

Frustrations have been brewing behind the scenes at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with both Moyes and the owners frustrated after a difficult transfer window.

Former Everton scout Bryan King told Football Insider on 3 September that Moyes' relationship with the owners has been damaged by the events of the summer.

Alongside a lack of backing in terms of new signings, Moyes was also left angry at the club's decision to sell Harrison Armstrong, before they made a late U-turn to keep him.

Fans protested in the stands as Everton drew with Bournemouth on 29 August and Moyes appeared to indicate that he did not support the potential sale.

That put another dent in the relationship between the manager and the board, and added to the list of problems behind the scenes at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
