Jordan Pickford 'will see out his career at Everton and retire as a legend'
Jordan Pickford is likely to finish his career at Everton despite re-emerging interest from German giants Bayern Munich.
That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that he cannot see the 32-year-old goalkeeper leaving the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Pickford has been the first-choice option on Merseyside ever since he arrived on a £30million deal from Sunderland in the summer of 2017.
Fast-forward nine years and he has 365 appearances to his name, as well as 91 caps for the England national team, while playing at several tournaments.
Very few have been such a consistent figure over that time, and it is believed that he will retire with legendary status at the Hill Dickinson.
This is despite Mick Brown telling Football Insider that Harry Kane is in the shot-stopper's ear over the international break.
Jordan Pickford backed to become a 'legend'
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson has admitted that he struggles to see Pickford moving anywhere else, rather retiring on Merseyside.
"He's always brilliant for England. I think he's actually had a very good start to the season, and made a couple of really great saves," he said.
"I think they're just going to want to keep him. I suspect he's probably got it into his own head that he can be a 10-year, 12-year legend-type.
"And maybe he'll see out his whole time there. I think it's unlikely that he moves. But you know, goalkeepers go on for a lot longer.
"So it's not impossible, but he just seems to be an Everton fixture."
Fresh England battle could keep Everton star hungry
Pickford has been the undisputed No.1 shot-stopper at Everton for several seasons now, rarely with any competition to push him.
Pickford often pushes himself to be better, so David Moyes is clearly not worried about a drop in standards, and especially not for England.
Leeds United's James Trafford was given the nod for two of the Three Lions' matches in this international break, maybe suggesting a future passing of the torch.
This competition is only going to push the Everton star to perform better, and that can only be good news for the Toffees in years to come.
