Everton Insider reveals when Jordan Pickford will leave: 'It would suit him'

Jordan Pickford could potentially stay as Everton's starting goalkeeper for another six years.

That is according to former Toffees chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes the 32-year-old could potentially see out the remainder of his career on Merseyside.

This comes amid links over a potential move to Bayern Munich, with the German champions identifying the England international as an ideal replacement for Manuel Neuer.

However, Wyness does not believe that a move to Germany would "suit" Pickford and his young family at the moment.

Instead, he expects him to stay put at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where he remains under contract until the summer of 2029.

Pickford holds the record as the longest-serving player in David Moyes' current squad, and has now amassed over 360 appearances in all competitions.

Jordan Pickford likely to reject Bayern Munich move

Everton’s former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that it is unlikely Pickford will move to a different county right now.

The Scottish businessman also outlined that the gloveman carries huge influence in the Everton dressing room, and also shares an excellent relationship with the fans.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness explained how he cannot see Pickford anywhere other than Everton.

"I don't think it's going to happen. I think he's going to end up staying with Everton, and I think he could be there for another five or six years as the first-team keeper," he said.

"That might suit his family, and it might suit him very well, and it certainly would suit the club. He's been through a lot with Everton in terms of fighting off the relegations; he's been instrumental in that and is adored by the fans.

"He's got his England place and kept it there, so it's been a good club for him. I think it might suit him with the young family to stay where he is. But look, in football, we all know to never say never."

Keith Wyness reveals likely Everton transfer fee from Jordan Pickford deal

How much could Everton get for Pickford?

Wyness previously told Football Insider earlier this week that Everton would only be able to get around £35million if they sold Pickford.

The former boardroom man believes that the former Sunderland stopper is beyond the stage of his career where he could earn the club mega money.

Wyness believes that a £35m deal would be the absolute most that his former club could secure, and warned them against selling Pickford for that reason.

It is clear that an exit would not move the needle for Everton in a financial sense, which Wyness feels would not make it worthwhile.
