Sources: David Moyes has clear plan for Jack Grealish amid Everton injury concerns
David Moyes will manage Jack Grealish's minutes as the season progresses to minimise the risk of him picking up another serious injury, sources have told Football Insider.
Grealish suffered a serious foot injury midway through a successful loan spell at Everton last season.
His campaign was cut short in January as a result of the problem, and he only returned to first-team action back at Man City in August.
The 31-year-old has only started two of the Toffees' four games since returning on loan last month.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Moyes will rotate Grealish with his other wing options for the foreseeable future due to concerns over his fitness.
He will be in line for regular starts as soon as the Toffees feel he is fully fit, after spending several months in the treatment room so far this year.
Jack Grealish's minutes are not a cause for concern for Everton fans
Grealish came off the bench to feature against Man United and Spurs last month before starting in wins over Wolves and Ipswich.
Moyes is keen to offer his other wide players more chances to impress in the early stages of the season, with Tyrique George, Tyler Dibling and Brennan Johnson also vying for starts.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "I think that Moyes has just been careful with Grealish because he had that long-term injury in the second half of last season, so he's still maybe working his way back to peak fitness and full match sharpness.
"I think once they get Grealish fully up to speed and ready to go, we will see him given more minutes at Everton."
Everton remain interested in Teun Koopmeiners
Grealish was one of a number of big-name arrivals at the Hill Dickinson Stadium over the summer.
The Toffees were also keen on adding Juventus midfielder Koopmeiners to Moyes' squad after he fell down the pecking order for starts in Turin towards the end of last term.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Everton are still interested in signing Koopmeiners and are preparing to make a move for his services in January.
He fits the profile of midfielder that Moyes wants to sign, with Juve potentially open to moving the Dutchman on if he continues to feature from the bench.
