Arsenal are now just days away from confirming Bruno Guimaraes as their latest marquee signing after Everton reached an agreement in principle for Christian Norgaard.

Sources have told Football Insider that the 32-year-old midfielder is set to leave the Emirates for the Toffees this summer.

That paves the way for Arsenal to complete the marquee capture of Guimaraes, who has already agreed personal terms with the club.

It is expected that the Newcastle skipper, 28, will be unveiled as an Arsenal player next week for a fee of around £80million.

The Gunners have been chasing the Brazil international throughout the summer transfer window.

Now, Norgaard’s impending departure to Everton is the biggest piece of evidence yet that a deal is close.

Failure to replace him would leave Mikel Arteta light on midfielders, with the 2026-27 campaign just weeks away from beginning.

Christian Norgaard sale shows that Bruno Guimaraes deal is close

Norgaard’s impending sale was reported on Saturday, with the two clubs reaching an agreement in principle.

Once he is confirmed as an Everton player, this will leave Arteta with just five central midfielders ahead of the new campaign.

On top of this, Arsenal will be down a leader, with Norgaard clearly helping the club get over the line when securing the Premier League title last season.

Therefore, it makes sense that the Gunners are greenlighting this sale as an agreement is on the verge of being reached for Guimaraes.

There have been numerous reports this week claiming that a deal is close for the Newcastle captain.

Now, Guimaraes could just be days away from being unveiled as an Arsenal player as Arteta looks to finally secure one of his top targets.

Who else are Arsenal looking to sign this summer?

Arsenal have also been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior this summer.

The winger is out of contract next year, and is yet to sign a new deal with the Spanish giants.

However, Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Vinicius Junior plans on staying at Real Madrid this summer.

Both the 26-year-old and Madrid are looking to reach an agreement over a new deal before the end of the transfer window.

Nevertheless, Arsenal will pounce if nothing is agreed as Arteta looks to make a statement signing this summer ahead of their title defence campaign in the Premier League.
