Birmingham City's stance on Jay Stansfield transfer revealed amid Everton and Sunderland interest
Birmingham City remain "relaxed" over the future of striker Jay Stansfield, sources have told Football Insider.
The 23-year-old is attracting interest from the likes of Everton and Sunderland in the early stages of the summer window.
The Toffees currently have other targets ahead of Stansfield on their list of attacking priorities, while Sunderland are also considering other options.
Birmingham have the starlet tied down to a long-term contract until the summer of 2031, and have also placed a £25million asking price on his head.
The second city outfit are confident that the pair of Premier League sides will not meet that price tag ahead of 2026-27.
There is also interest from both Hull City and Ipswich Town, but Birmingham are not panicking about the situation.
Birmingham keen to keep Jay Stansfield long-term
Stansfield has become a hugely popular figure at St Andrew's in recent years and is the focal point of Birmingham's project.
The Blues have ambitions of reaching the Premier League themselves in the coming years, and are keen to resist any interest in their star man this summer.
Stansfield netted 10 goals in the Championship last term, and also added six assists to end the campaign with more goal involvements than anyone else in the squad.
It is expected that the youngster will only get better as he continues to develop, and he is seen as a player who is capable of reaching the Premier League in future.
There are clubs that are prepared to offer him that opportunity this summer, but Birmingham are not concerned about the growing interest.
Birmingham battling Wrexham for Romeo Amane
Football Insider revealed earlier in June that Birmingham are battling Wrexham and Sheffield United to sign Rapid Vienna midfielder Romeo Amane.
The 23-year-old notched one goal and three assists in the Austrian Bundesliga last season, and looks set to move to the Championship this summer.
Amane has multiple years of experience playing in the UEFA Conference League, with his previous club BK Hacken also regulars in the competition.
The Ivorian has impressed enough to attract a whole host of English suitors, and is likely to be on the move this summer.
