David Moyes can finally solve Everton striker problem as Mohamed Amoura valuation drops
David Moyes is far from the first Everton manager to contend with a subpar strikeforce on Merseyside this season.
The Toffees were forced to put up with Dominic Calvert-Lewin's injury issues for years at Goodison Park, and despite a change of stadium, the club's issues have followed them across the city.
Moyes' side are making a charge for Europe, and while Beto and Thierno Barry are ranked first and second in terms of Everton's goalscorers, they only have 13 goals between them in the Premier League.
Everton's transfer chiefs will be gearing up for an exciting summer transfer window, and it would appear that links are already emerging at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton in the race for Mohamed Amoura
Football Insider understands that Everton are eyeing a deal for Ivan Toney, but given his importance in the Saudi Pro League, it could take an eye-watering amount of money to drag him back to England.
As well as the England international, the Toffees are keeping tabs on Egypt international Mohamed Amoura, with the Wolfsburg star's valuation dropping from £35million to £26million [L'Equipe].
While it has been a difficult campaign for the 25-year-old, he has still managed to record eight goals and seven assists in all competitions, even with the Africa Cup of Nations in between.

While Amoura is relatively inexperienced in the top leagues, featuring in the Europa League with Union St Gilloise in 2023-24, Hugo Ekitike, Omar Marmoush and Erling Haaland have all proven that a successful switch to the Premier League is possible.
Who must David Moyes fend off for Amoura's signature?
With Wolfsburg also at huge risk of being relegated from the Bundesliga this season, there is an extra incentive for the Toffees to go all-in for his signature once the summer window opens.
However, Leeds have also been linked with Amoura, and Daniel Farke would likely welcome him to the squad with open arms. Moyes' side must jump ahead of the queue for the striker.
With Everton just five points below the Champions League qualification spots, thanks to an extra team for next season, there is a very real chance of Moyes taking the club back to Europe.
That should help draw some bigger names to the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the summer, and Amoura could make an expected switch to England, with Merseyside his potential destination.
