Everton fans were furious when it was revealed that Nottingham Forest are working on a deal to sign Harrison Armstrong.
Reports emerged on Saturday that a deal could be worth around £40million plus a sell-on clause for the midfielder.
Armstrong has emerged as a bright upcoming talent at the Toffees and picked up an assist in their 2-0 opening day win against Crystal Palace.
As a result, when it was revealed that the 19-year-old could be on his way out of the door before the transfer window closes, supporters were fuming.
The midfielder spent the first half of the 2025-26 campaign on loan to Preston North End before he was recalled in January.
Since then, he has been part of the first-team at Everton, and could prove to be a key player this campaign.

The youngster no doubt has huge potential, and could become a star player in the near future in the Premier League.
Therefore, when The Athletic reported Nottingham Forest’s current interest in Armstrong, it caused many supporters to lose their minds, with it clear that they do not want to see him depart in the coming days.
Multiple fans have since taken to X, demanding that the midfielder not be sold before the transfer window closes this summer.
Who else could leave Everton before deadline day?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Leeds United and Crystal Palace have registered interest in Jake O’Brien late in the summer transfer window.
Both of the Premier League sides are keen on the versatile defender, who was a key player for Everton last season and was mainly utilised at right-back.
The Toffees would be unwilling to part with the 25-year-old until a replacement right-back is brought into the club, which could prove to be tricky in the remaining days of the window.
O’Brien is still contracted at the Hill Dickinson Stadium until 2028 after he signed a four-year deal in 2024 upon arriving from Lyon.
However, it remains to be seen if the Republic of Ireland international makes a late move from the Hill Dickinson Stadium before the transfer window closes on 1 September.
