Everton's chances of 'revisiting' Richarlison deal in January revealed

Everton are unlikely to "revisit" their move to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison in January, sources have told Football Insider.

The Toffees have no "immediate plans" to make a return move for their former star, despite coming close to securing his services this summer.

The 29-year-old expressed his discontent at his involvement in a potential swap deal with Iliman Ndiaye, which would have seen him return to Merseyside for £35million.

Sources say that Everton do not want to go back in for Richarlison after he turned them down, unless there is a drastic change of stance.

David Moyes' side are short of options at the top of the pitch, but are keen to ensure that they secure the right fit for their squad this winter.

Richarlison has now been frozen out at Spurs ahead of his contract expiring next summer, and has not been named in their squad for the Premier League.

Everton turn attention away from Richarlison

Richarlison came close to a return to Everton at the end of the summer window, but things didn't fall into place for his move.

The frontman expressed frustration at the way the saga had been handled via his Instagram account, while Ndiaye ultimately ended up moving to Manchester City.

However, the way that Richarlison handled the situation has now put Everton off from trying to bring him back again in January.

The out-of-favour star is likely to be available for a significantly cut-price fee when he enters the final six months of his contract, but Everton have doubts about the player's desire to return.

Richarlison remains a fan favourite at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but when his chance arose to return, he didn't seem willing to make it happen.

David Moyes' updated stance on Everton contract offer

Football Insider revealed on Monday that Everton boss Moyes has no "doubts" over his desire to continue leading the team long-term.

The Scot is out of contract on Merseyside next summer, and is still awaiting an offer from the club hierarchy to extend his deal.

There have even been questions of late as to whether Moyes may resign after a disastrous end to the transfer window, but sources say he has no intention of stepping away from his role.

It is also understood that The Friedkin Group will be "more than happy" to keep the 63-year-old if the team enjoy another positive season.
