Man City odds-on favourites to sign Iliman Ndiaye after ‘update’
Manchester City have suddenly emerged as the odds-on favourites to secure a sensational late deal for Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye.
This comes after reports on Friday stated that the winger was now a priority target for the Manchester club before the transfer window closes on 1 September.
Everton would demand a hefty £80million fee for the 26-year-old, in what could be one of the biggest deals in the final days of the transfer window.
As a result, one UK bookmaker has slashed Man City’s odds on completing the deal down to 1/2.
This comes as City search for replacements for Savio and Omar Marmoush, who have both recently made the move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Ndiaye has already had a solid start to the 2026-27 campaign, and has started in all three of Everton’s games in all competitions so far.
Would Iliman Ndiaye make an impact at Man City?
Ndiaye is no doubt a great footballer.
The Senegal international is arguably Everton’s best forward, and was key throughout the last campaign.
This form then continued into the 2026 World Cup, where he netted once and picked up two assists in three matches.
Therefore, with Ndiaye about to hit his prime, he could prove to be a wonderful addition for City if they are able to strike a deal with Everton.
However, it remains to be seen if The Sun’s report will come to anything in the final days of the transfer window.
Who else is in the race for Ndiaye?
On top of Man City, many clubs are still considered to be in the race for Ndiaye in the closing days of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal are 2/1 to seal the signing as they continue to search for reinforcements up top.
Tottenham Hotspur are also considered potential suitors for Ndiaye at 4/1 as they continue to be linked with attackers despite their recent incomings.
Manchester United and Chelsea are both believed to be outsiders at 12/1 in what could be a surprise development before the end of the window.
However, it remains to be seen where Ndiaye will be playing his football throughout the 2026-27 campaign, and speculation surrounding his future refuses to disperse.
