Sources: Everton make contact over Liam Delap deal as offer submitted
Everton have offered Chelsea flop Liam Delap a contract as they accelerate plans to sign him this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The London giants are expected to let the 23-year-old go permanently, with multiple Premier League clubs interested in the striker.
Football Insider recently revealed that Everton are in pole position to sign Delap after his difficult first season at Chelsea.
Now, Everton have taken this one step further as they work with intermediaries to agree personal terms with the former England Under-21 international ahead of a potential move.
Delap scored just one Premier League goal at Chelsea last season after his £30million move from Ipswich Town.
Previously, the striker was a success in the English top-flight and netted 12 Premier League goals in the 2024-25 campaign for the Tractor Boys as they were relegated to the Championship.
Can Liam Delap be a success at Everton?
Delap’s 2025-26 campaign was nothing short of a nightmare.
The striker lost his clinical touch in front of goal, and also struggled with injuries in the first half of the season.
In the Premier League, many of his stats are mixed from the 2025-26 campaign. However, there is hope for the Hill Dickinson Stadium faithful if he does come through the door this summer.
According to Fotmob on 27 June, Delap is still getting in good positions and was averaging a xG of 0.36 per game.
On top of this, he was also averaging 2.94 shots, 0.82 successful dribbles, 1.55 fouls won, and 4.82 duels won per 90 minutes.
Therefore, if David Moyes can get Delap to rekindle his form at Ipswich Town, he could become a massive asset for the Toffees going forward.
Who else are Everton looking to sign?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Everton have made a preliminary move to sign Jarrod Bowen.
The West Ham United captain wants to move back to the Premier League this summer after the club’s relegation to the Championship.
However, the winger wants to assess offers from different clubs before making a decision on his future at the London Stadium.
Bowen had established himself as one of the Premier League’s best attackers in recent times, a reputation that helped him earn an England call-up.
However, it remains to be seen if Everton are able to complete the swoop this summer transfer window.
