Ex-Fifa official can't believe 'amazing Jack Harrison decision' as Leeds United images emerge
Keith Hackett has insisted Wolves star Craig Dawson should have been sent off for his “dangerous” challenge on Leeds United’s Jack Harrison during the Whites’ 4-2 win on Saturday (18 March).
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Fifa and Premier League referee insisted it was “amazing” to see two similar challenges punished with different outcomes during the game.
Dawson caught Harrison high on the ankle as both players attempted to play the ball in the 34th minute at Molineux on Saturday (18 March) – but was only shown a yellow card by referee Michael Salisbury.
In the second half, Wolves star Jonny Otto was given his marching orders for a similar challenge on Luke Ayling after a VAR review saw his yellow card upgraded to red.
Harrison endured rough treatment from the Wolves players throughout the clash and took to his Instagram (as posted to Twitter, 18 March) to showcase his various injuries.
The winger’s sixth-minute strike set Leeds on their way to a crucial 4-2 victory as they bid to avoid relegation to the Championship this term.

Hackett told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I found this decision amazing.
“This is why fans are jumping up and down about the state of refereeing.
“There’s no question that Dawson should have been red-carded.
“The outcome of the challenge is obviously terrible, and that can be a guide for the referee – but he’s endangered the player with how he went into the challenge. It’s simple.
“I find it amazing that the referee and VAR had two very similar situations and challenges in the same game, but managed to come out with a different view.
“It was clear. He should have been sent off.”
