Ex-manager backs Arsenal to sign 'Giant' with 'the speed of Aubameyang'
Alex McLeish has claimed Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham could be a game-changing signing for Arsenal this summer.
The former Scotland boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 23-year-old “giant” would offer Mikel Arteta a different dimension in attack.
As reported by The Sun (July 21st), Chelsea are prepared to let Abraham join Arsenal on a loan-to-buy deal.
It is said the Gunners would pay £40million to buy the striker, who is on £80,000-a-week, should he make a certain number of appearances.
West Ham and Tottenham are both said to have baulked at the Blues’ £40million asking price.
McLeish admitted Abraham had found himself in “limbo” at Stamford Bridge.

He suggested a move to Arsenal would be “progressive” for both player and club.
“It’s a kind of limbo for Tammy Abraham,” McLeish told Football Insider.
“He will have been a bit disappointed by the Chelsea rejection. But he is capable of causing damage in any penalty box.
“I saw him when he played against Scotland under-21s and I was thinking what a giant of a man. Decent speed as well.
“It’s just about him putting his game together. Then you could see him having a really good career.
“He’s got the capabilities of moving anywhere, I believe. Arsenal, it could be Arteta has different strategies for different games.
“He’s (Abraham) got the speed of Aubameyang but he’s also got the power. He’s not a slouch. I could see that being a progressive move for Arsenal.”
Abraham has scored 26 goals in 89 Premier League appearances but fell out of favour under Thomas Tuchel last season.
He started just three times in six league games following the German’s arrival in January.
