Ex-manager makes 'massive' Leeds claim as new hire confirmed
Alex McLeish has tipped Sandro Mencucci to be a “marvellous” addition to the Leeds United board.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 59-year-old’s “massive experience” would help take the Whites to the next level.
Leeds announced last week that Mencucci, Massimo Marinelli and Peter Lowy have been appointed as board members.

He was also president of the club’s academy and women’s team.
McLeish insisted Mencucci’s experience would be vital to help Leeds reach new heights.
McLeish told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge: “Massive experience. That does sound like a very positive move.
“The fact that he has worked with the academy as well. You know he’s got marvellous, all-round experience of top football clubs and top systems within those football clubs.
“He’s your modern-day, top-class addition to the board. Fantastic.”
The Italian businessman helped take Fiorentina from the fourth tier of Italian football to the top flight.
The club have since competed in both the Champions League and Europa League.
Outside of football, Mencucci is also the executive principal of Aser Media, part of Andrea Radrizzani’s sports investment agency.
