Ex-manager: Postecoglou will be thrilled after Celtic land new hire
Alex McLeish has suggested Ange Postecoglou and Dominic McKay will be thrilled to have Gordon Strachan on board as a consultant at Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers manager claimed the senior figures would “breath a sigh of relief” having the 64-year-old on board.
Celtic confirmed on Tuesday (August 10th) Strachan had joined the club on a three-month consultancy project.
The former Hoops boss will be advising on developments for the academy, women’s team and the B team at Parkhead.
As quoted by the Daily Record (August 11th), current manager Postecoglou revealed he had already met with Strachan.
However, the Australian boss suggested he was not too focused on some areas that the Scottish figure would be assessing.

Despite that, McLeish insisted Postecoglou would be delighted to have Strachan’s experience to bounce off of.
He also claimed new chief executive McKay would be delighted with the new appointment.
“I believe there will be a sigh of relief from Dominic McKay and guys like that,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“Postecoglou knows of Gordon’s great experience in the game. I’m sure Gordon will let Ange get on with it.
“Ange could do worse than pull him in for a cup of tea every now and again. Get the wisdom and experience.
“He’ll also be able to help the chief exec. I’m sure there’s a little bit of comfort in that appointment.
“The fact that they thrashed Dundee last weekend, there will be a wee rise in confidence.”
