Ex-manager thrilled after update on Tottenham push to sign Traore from Wolves via Romano
Alex McLeish would “love to see” Adama Traore join Tottenham from Wolves this month.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 25-year-old could be a creative force for Antonio Conte’s men.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday (18 January), Spurs are still trying to sign Traore this month but are facing resistance from Molineux.
The Italian journalist claims Wolves boss Bruno Lage is pushing to prevent a deal from happening this month.
The Spain international has been heavily linked with a move to north London this month.
McLeish hailed Traore’s development since joining Wolves and admitted he wants to see him in a Spurs shirt.

McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I really like the improvement from Traore.
“That’s happened at Wolves. Way back in the day at Barcelona we felt he was just very quick but he never had the end product. He never knew when to stop running.
“We wanted him to show us a bit of technique. I think he has definitely proven to be a handful for defences.
“I would like to see somebody like Adama at Spurs. I’d love to see that player at Spurs.
“It sounds like it could happen. I’m sure he could create for the other players.”
Traore scored his first goal in 22 appearances this season in the 3-1 win over Southampton.
However, he has not contributed a single assist this term.
The explosive winger has scored a total of eight goals and chipped in with 18 assists in 159 Premier League appearances.
