Ex-manager tips Christie to engineer Celtic exit amid London-club report
Alex McLeish has suggested Ryan Christie could push to quit Celtic if Crystal Palace make a move this summer.
The former Scotland boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 26-year-old midfielder would be a “really good signing” for the Eagles.
As reported by the Daily Record (July 3rd), newly-appointed Palace manager Patrick Vieira has made the Celtic ace a top target.
It is said Vieira was also the driving force behind OGC Nice’s bid for Christie last summer.
McLeish admitted interest from the Premier League is always going to turn a player’s head.
As such, he suggested Christie could push to leave Parkhead over the coming weeks.

“For me, that’s danger signs for Celtic,” McLeish has told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“If an English Premier League club comes in for you, then it’s very difficult to stop that.
“A player’s ambition as well, an individual’s ambition for footballers, is to go and play in the Premier League, in England. To go from the Scottish Premiership to the English Premier League.
“Christie has had a great couple of seasons. I think this last season wasn’t his best because the whole team ethic dropped a little bit because Rangers were so dominant.
“I would say Christie would be a really good signing.”
Christie only has six months left on his contract at Celtic Park, meaning the Bhoys face losing him for nothing.
He has played 142 times across all competitions for the Hoops to date.
