Ex-manager tips Tottenham to submit Jimenez bid after Kane reveal
Alex McLeish has tipped Tottenham to launch a bid to sign Raul Jimenez from Wolves on Nuno Espirito Santo’s orders.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 30-year-old could act as competition or a replacement for Harry Kane.
As revealed by Football Insider in April, the England striker told friends he is “hell bent” on leaving Spurs this summer.
Jimenez missed much of the 2020/21 campaign after picking up a serious head injury in November.
However, Wolves issued an update in May confirming he had been given the all-clear to resume full training.
With Nuno having swapped Molineux for Spurs last month, McLeish suggested he would want Jimenez to follow him to north London.

“I thought Nuno would go for one of his old proteges Raul Jimenez,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“He had that head knock but I can see players like that coming to Spurs should Harry go.
“Jimenez, when he had that injury, Wolves definitely didn’t look the same team that they were.
“It’s amazing how much one man make a difference. I would say Nuno would definitely go for him. Even if Kane stays, I think he will go for him.
“That might help persuade Kane to stay and see: ‘Well, maybe we can win something here.'”
Jimenez has scored 34 goals in 86 Premier League appearances since joining Wolves.
He still has three years left on the contract he signed back in October 2020.
