'So exciting' - Pochettino in dreamland after 'unbelievable' Tottenham reveal
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he is in dreamland after it was revealed that his side would face Italian giants Juventus in the Champions League knock out stages.
Spurs were drawn against the side from Turin on Monday, having come through the group stage unbeaten, which resulted in them finishing top of the table, reigning champions Real Madrid having to settle for second.
Juventus were the side which Real beat in the final last season, and lost just one of their group stage matches to finish as runners up to Spanish giants Barcelona in their group of four.
Now, Pochettino has spoken out about his delight at drawing the Italian’s for the next round, revealing that he has a very personal connection with the city.
He is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: “It’s fantastic because my family came from Italy, from Turin — unbelievable. My surname is from Italy.
“It’s a city and a club I’ve always wanted to play and it’s now fantastic to be going to the city of Turin to play against Juventus.

“It’s so important to be competitive and we’ve shown we can do that, we’ve shown we can deal with the pressure of the Champions League.
“This will be a different game to Real Madrid and it’s so exciting to play Juventus.”
Spurs have already bettered their European performance from last season, having finished third in their Champions League group before dropping out of the Europa League at the round of 32 stage with a two legged defeat to Belgian side Gent.
This season saw them beat Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Apoel Nicosia in five out of six of their games, with their draw against the Spanish giants at the Bernabeu the only game in which they failed to pick up three points.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club are in hot pursuit of an Olympic silver medallist.
