Report: Tottenham embark on Euro mission for defensive duo - keen on Olympic silver medallist
Tottenham have sent scouts to watch left back duo Philipp Max and Alex Telles in action this season, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claim on their website that Spurs have been jetting out on European transfer missions in recent weeks, with Augsburg’s Max and Porto’s Telles the centre of their attentions.
The 24-year-old German defender, who won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games, has impressed in the Bundesliga, with his side having made their best ever start in Germany’s top flight, and recently extended his contract until 2022.
Brazilian Telles, also 24, has been an ever present in both Porto’s domestic league and Champions League campaign this season, and has chipped in with an impressive seven assists in 20 appearances across all competitions, with a contract which lasts until 2021.

This report tells everyone what Spurs are planning for the future, and it is not good news if you are Ben Davies. Danny Rose looks set to secure the move that he has been so vocal about in recent times, and there will likely be much love lost if Daniel Levy does decide to sell the English international. However Daviews would have been hoping that his sale would promote him to first choice left back, but it appears the club have other ideas. Both Telles and Max would provide firm competition and even potentially usurp the Welsh defender from his current place in the starting XI, so he will have to work extra hard to retain his spot.
