Josh King has emerged as a target for Italian giants AC Milan as Tottenham plot a move for the Bournemouth striker, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The 28-year-old has just one year left on his contract at the Vitality Stadium and looks set to leave the club following their relegation from the Premier League.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that AC Milan have set their sights on the Norway international this summer.
Sky Sports reported in June that four of the Premier League’s top six clubs were keen on signing the former Blackburn attacker in this transfer window.
Football Insider understands one of those sides to be Tottenham, who have registered their interest in the player.
The Cherries striker’s 27 appearances across all competitions last season yielded six goals and four assists but it was not enough to keep Eddie Howe’s side in the division.
He missed a large chunk of the season (8 games) over the festive period after he suffered a hamstring injury on 28 December against Brighton.
King, who can play across the front line, has scored 17 goals in 46 appearances for Norway.
Potential suitors will have been encouraged by Bournemouth’s public stance that they will listen to offers for all their key players following relegation.
The Cherries will not stand in the way of any player’s seeking moves away from the club so long as their asking price is met.
Aaron Ramsdale last week joined Sheffield United in an £18.5million move while Nathan Ake completed a blockbuster £41million transfer to Manchester City earlier in the window.
