Alan Hutton has claimed his old Aston Villa teammate Jack Grealish is thinking about quitting the club for a bigger team.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former long-serving Villa defender dropped the bombshell that the playmaker is almost certainly heading out of his boyhood club.
This comes amid reports that Grealish has told friends he is eyeing a blockbuster move to Man United.
Hutton claimed there are plenty of elite clubs keen on signing his long-time playing ally and pointed out the interest not only from the Premier League elite but also overseas.
“For Jack to kick on again and really hit the heights that everybody knows he can get to, he is going to have to leave Villa,” Hutton told Football Insider. “It’s his team, and it will be a real hard decision for him to leave.
“From what I hear, it’s probably one at the back of his mind that he knows he’s going to have to do.
“There’s a lot of big boys looking at him – I don’t necessary tie it down to just Man United. I’m pretty sure there’ll be a lot more interested in him, and from abroad. He’s technically gifted and he could literally play anywhere in the world – he’s that good.
“I don’t like saying it because Villa is such a massive part of me, but I do think at the back of everybody’s mind they know it’s going to happen at some point.”
Grealish has taken his game to a new level following Villa’s return to the Premier League this season.
In 27 appearances across all competitions, the playmaker has registered nine assists and seven goals, performing at a consistently high level while also scoring a series of technically brilliant goals.
