Unai Emery is the market for midfield reinforcements in January with the unsettled Granit Xhaka expected to leave the Emirates after being dropped from the first-team and stripped of the club captaincy.

An Arsenal source has told Football Insider that the club regard RB Salzburg ace Szoboszlai as a genuine contender to replace Xhaka in their midfielder.

The Gunners will dispatch scouts to keep tabs on him while in action for Hungary tomorrow in their crunch Euro 2020 qualifier away to Wales.

Szoboszlai, 19, is a long-term transfer target for Arsenal, who tried to sign him in the summer window but were knocked back.
