Arsenal are keen to take advantage of Jack Clarke's contract situation at Leeds United as they prepare to make a formal bid for the winger, Football Insider can reveal.

Clarke's Premier League suitors have been encouraged in their pursuit of the 18-year-old a new deal as the Championship leaders are not prepared to discuss talks over a new deal until the end of the season at the earliest.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday that Tottenham are keen to sign Clarke and a well-placed source has told us that Arsenal are also set to make an offer for the rising star.

Premier League top-two Liverpool and Manchester City are also weighing up moves for Clarke following his emergence on the scene for Leeds this season.

The skilful attacker enhanced his growing reputation with a man of the match performance in the 2-0 win over Derby last Friday as Leeds maintained their push for promotion to the Premier League.

Clarke signed his first professional deal at Leeds last November when he turned 17 and he is one of the lowest paid players in the current Leeds first-team.

Leeds' refusal to offer Clarke fresh terms to reflect his growing importance to Marcelo Bielsa's side has given his Premier League admirers hope that the exciting winger could be prised away from Elland Road this month for the right price.
