Exclusive: Arsenal ready January bid for goalscoring midfielder who's netted in 19/20 CL

Arsenal are plotting a fresh move to sign Hungary international Dominik Szoboszlai in January, Football Insider can reveal.

The teenager, who only turned 19 last week, has emerged as a potential European superstar and has already made a big impact in the Champions League for Red Bull Salzburg.

An Arsenal source has told Football Insider the club have dispatched scouts to run regular checks this season on Szoboszlai and will continue to do so ahead of the winter window.

Talent spotters from the London giants watched him score in their Champions League opener this season against Genk as well as produce an impressive performance in the thrilling 4-3 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

Arsenal tried to sign Szoboszlai in the summer but were told they must pay £15million for the wonderkid after suggesting a £9million bid.

The Gunners are readying a fresh move for the rising star, who is regarded as one of the best players in his age group across Europe after impressing for club and country during the last 12 months.

He has also attracted interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, as well as Serie A giants Juventus, Inter Milan and Lazio.

RB Salzburg fended off the interest in Szoboszlai during the summer as they wanted to keep him for the group stages of the Champions League, but a January transfer is a possibility.

Szoboszlai is such a precocious talent that he has already been capped six times by Hungary and has scored his first international goal.

Operating mainly in a left-sided attacking midfield role, the teenager has 14 appearances for Salzburg in all competitions this season, scoring four goals and supplying four assists.
