Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Polish goalkeeper Oliwer Zych from Zaglebie Lubin, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The 16-year-old is very highly rated and has attracted the attention of some of Europe's top clubs.

A source at Villa Park has told Football Insider that Zych has agreed a professional contract with the Premier League club.

The teenager has been searching for a move to England and has been on trial with Liverpool and Arsenal in the past.

Villa will have to pay training and development costs to his current club Zaglebie Lubin, who play in Poland’s top flight.

He has made seven appearances for the Zaglebie Lubin's Under-19 side this season and conceded seven goals.

Zych is currently Poland's Under-16 goalkeeper and has played for his national side at Under-14 and Under-15 level as well.

Dean Smith's side's problems between the sticks have been well documented this year after Tom Heaton suffered a season-ending knee injury on New Year's Day.

Pepe Reina was brought in as cover in January but he will return to Milan after his season-long loan deal.

Heaton is hopeful he will be able to return for the start of the 2020/21 season which it kicks off on 12 September.

Villa secured their Premier League survival yesterday with a 1-1 draw against West Ham as Watford slipped to a 3-2 defeat at the Emirates.
